Editor’s note: MG contributor Katharine Boyle paid a recent visit to the new Morris County Winter Farmers Market, which runs on Sunday mornings through April in Morristown. Here’s her report:

I’m so happy that this will continue to be an all-four-seasons occurrence, although today felt very much like any season other than late fall or winter.

The flow of the market at the Alexander Hamilton school is better than Fosterfield’s, the prior location. It’s easier to navigate – -not just to get to the actual location, but the vendors are well positioned throughout the auditorium and a hallway that leads to the gymnasium.

After taking photos, I ended up shopping quite a lot! I have a nice selection of cheeses from both dairy vendors (Valley Shepard and Bobolink Dairy), and our bathrooms smells like lavender, mint and lemongrass thanks to Bay Berry Bliss LLC.

I’ve already enjoyed some of the cheese, ate some Pickle Licious new pickles and finished with a vegan vanilla creme cookie from Mo’Pweeze Bakery.

We have plenty of produce from Race Farm LLC and some mushrooms from Griggstown Farm. My husband Dave has some wonderfully local ingredients to cook with this week; I do not cook… for everyone’s sake. :>)

Race Farm even makes its own juices. The Green Goddess Juice I enjoyed contains celery, cucumber, romaine, kale, spinach, apples, lemon and ginger… all the right ingredients to have started my day!
