Morristown weather report: Sunny, 66, and Santa’s House is on the Green

Is it really time for sleigh bells and snowballs? Santa's House must think so, even though it's sunny and 66 degrees on Nov. 16, 2015. Photo by Kevin Coughlin

Only 39 shopping days until Christmas!

How do we know?  Because the Santa House is on the Morristown Green.

Don’t let the sunny skies and balmy mid-60s temperature fool you. Santa is coming.  He arrives in the early evening of Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, to kick off the month-long Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green.

It’s organized, as always, by the Morristown Partnership.  Once again, the Partnership is offering its Gift Greenbacks promotion to encourage everyone to Shop Local for the holidays.

While supplies last, you can get $10 free for every $50 of gift certificates purchased, up to a maximum of $500.

And on Saturday, Nov. 28, you can get $20 free for every $50 purchased, up to $500. The double promotion is limited to one person per household, and usually sells out within a couple of hours.

Certificates may be purchased at the Partnership office at 14 Maple Ave. They are honored by dozens of downtown shops and restaurants.

Come to think of it… maybe the young bear that visited the Green a couple of weeks ago was just trying to reserve a place in line to see Santa?

Stay tuned for holiday updates.
