Every November, on the second Thursday, the All Souls Day Mass at Moristown’s Church of the Assumption commemorates members of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick  of Morris County  who died in the past year.

And so it was last week.

The Guard, Pipes and Drums and the Assumption Church choir, led by Claudia Nardi, provided a special selection of music, starting with Minstrel Boy by the Guard, and during the Mass celebration, the well-loved Lady of Knock, On Eagle’s Wings and Amazing Grace, and concluding with Going Home.

As it always has, the emerald green program offers an Irish Blessing on the final page:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm your face, the rainfall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
