Morristown was incorporated in 1865, and for more than a century since then, the Morristown Neighborhood House has been helping neighbors in need.
The Nabe and its parent organization, Cornerstone Family Programs — which has been helping locals since the War of 1812–celebrated the town’s anniversary at Community Family Day on Saturday.
An exhibit of Morristown historical photos was included, along with train rides and games, and hot dogs and hamburgers.
Mayor Tim Dougherty also paid a visit, on a busy day that included stops at Community Health Day and the Mayor’s Kids Fondo.
The Nabe and Cornerstone believe “everyone deserves a chance for a happy, healthy and productive life,” according to Patrice Picard, Cornerstone’s executive director.
This marked the 13th year for Community Family Day, and Morristown Green contributor Jeff Sovelove was on hand to photograph all the family fun at Morristown’s Cauldwell Playground.
