For more than a century, Morristown’s Market Street Mission has been turning lives around.

But it gives back to the community in other ways, too — like Sunday’s backpack giveaway to disadvantaged kids.

Some 1,400 backpacks loaded with school supplies were ready for distribution by Mission volunteers.  The line of grateful recipients stretched all the way to Park Place.

Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty and First Lady Mary Dougherty stopped by to show their support for the Mission and Project Backpack.
