Do you want to get out and ride bikes with your kids to get places in Morristown, like maybe a quick trip to the library or South Street Creamery, or take a day trip with your kids along a great Morris County trail, but are nervous about getting started? Or maybe you already ride with your family, but you want to meet up with other like-minded folks to ride with?

Join Bike & Walk Morristown on Sunday, July 19, 2015, for a How to Ride with Kids event, featuring Dena Driscoll, from the Bike Mama Philadelphia blog. Dena will share her experiences and advice about riding bikes with kids and answer questions.

Local dads Doug Palen and Dean Sanginari will also be on hand to talk about their experiences, share their favorite kid carrying equipment and talk about where they love to ride locally with their kids. Bike Walk Town’s league certified cycling instructor, Tina Wahlstrom, will also be on hand to answer questions about how to ride safely and with confidence in Morristown and anywhere else you want to ride with your kids.

The event starts at 1:00 at Marty’s Reliable Cycle at 173 Speedwell and will also feature some goodies from Whole Foods Morris County. Many thanks to both of them for their help making this happen!

Dena Driscoll is a family biking advocate who lives with her two kids, two cats, and husband in Philadelphia (all of whom have ridden in her cargo bike). When not riding or writing about family biking she can be found working at Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse.

Douglas Palen has been riding with his daughters literally since the moment his wife Lenore said it was OK. Their bike adventures have taken them through all sorts of places and weather on all sorts of pedalable kid carrying machines. He’s enjoying as many rides with his daughters as he can in these precious few years when it’s possible to share a bike. His stories will share the joys, troubles, and practical details of taking the kids out for a spin around the neighborhood – and some forty plus mile epic adventures.
