Is the third time the charm? The Moonlighters Orchestra will find out at 7 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, when it tries to snap Morris Township’s string of weather postponements.
The free concert at Ginty Field will mark the third attempt in as many weeks to get the annual summer concert series up and running.
This 14-member ensemble specializes in making old favorites sound new, with snappy arrangements of standards by Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and Benny Goodman.
The free family fun continues at Ginty on Wednesday, July 8, with a screening of Dolphin Tale 2, the story of a dolphin named “Hope” at the marine mammal hospital at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
Bring beach blankets and floaties, and find your special porpoise in life!
Deejays from Summit Soundz will take your musical requests at 7:30 pm, and the film starts around 8:45 pm.
Both events are organized by the Township recreation department.
