The Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County is excited to have Kings Food Markets as a partner in supporting its program aimed at Ending hunger. Over the past 12 years, Kings, through the Pantry Apple Program, has raised over $100,000 in donations from those within the community to support IFP efforts.
This year, Kings will be offering its customers the opportunity to donate in its Boonton, Chatham, Florham Park, Gillette, Mendham and Morristown locations to supply food to those who cannot afford to purchase their own groceries. We invite customers to purchase red or gold paper apples, for one or five dollars, respectively, and write their name on the apples, which will then be displayed around the store.
“We look forward to working with Kings each year on this program because it helps spread awareness about what we do here at the Interfaith Food Pantry as well encourage people to donate,”commented Rosemary Gilmartin the Executive Director at IFP.
“The Interfaith Food Pantry is a non-profit organization that relies on the generosity of others and we are so appreciative of the hard work and enthusiasm of Kings’ employees and management in selling the apples. They truly care about the issue of hunger and we couldn’t b e more grateful to the customers who always give so generously.”
The Pantry Apple Program will begin Saturday, June 13, 2015, and continue through Sunday, July 5, 2015. Come on out and support our cause.
The Interfaith Food Pantry assists families in making ends meet by supplementing their monthly groceries in times of need. Last year, we served almost 5,000 different households and distributed more than 1,000,000 lbs.of food.
