Morris Township’s Economic Development Advisory Board is scheduled to meet for the first time tonight, May 18, 2015, at 6 o’clock in the municipal building.

The board’s purpose, Mayor Dan Caffrey explained earlier this year, is to “enhance and improve the business climate” in the Township.

“They will be chartered with actively looking for new businesses to move to our community, and retain the ones that are already here,” Caffrey said.

Deputy Mayor Bruce Sisler will chair the board, whose members were appointed by the Township Committee.  The EDAC members are:

  • Leonard D. Posey, who also is president of the Morris School District board
  • Scott Schubiger
  • Rich Haan
  • Susan Kiall Benedetto
  • Paul M. Staudt
  • Ed Burwell

Meghan Hunscher, executive director of the Morris County Economic Development Corp., will be a guest speaker.
