THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2015:

morris museum art of illusionArtists, magicians, and illusionists have been tricking the human eye for centuries, according to the Morris Museum.  Visit the boundaries of clarity and confusion, at more than 20 interactive stations that explore “optical illusions, a magician’s sleight of hand, and an artist’s distortion of perspective,” from Baroque to Op-Art. From 11 am to 5 pm at the museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township. Admission: $10/adults, $7/children, seniors, and students, free for members and children under 3. Call (973) 971-3700 for more.

jerzey derby brigade mouthguard nightIt’s time for The Minstrel’s monthly open stage!  Show what you can do, in a 15-minute set, or cheer for someone else who is showing what they can do. At 8 pm, at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 26 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township.  Sign up here.  And check out the Folk Project’s honor last month as Morris Arts’ Outstanding Arts Organization.

You have to give those derby divas credit.  They know how to put a new spin on everything — even karaoke. It’s Mouth Guard Karaoke Night at Tiff’s Casual Bar & Grill in Morris Plains, at 10 pm. The Jerzey Derby Brigade will supply a clean, brand new mouth guard if you don’t have one. At 231 Speedwell Ave.  And get ready for the ladies’ season opener, April 11, at Inline Morristown.

SATURDAY, APRIL 4:

Morristown’s annual Easter Egg Hunt starts at 10 am at Lidgerwood Park. Candy is promised for all, with a visit from the Easter Bunny, face-painting, and balloon animals. For ages 3 and under, 4-6, and 7-10. If it rains, everything moves into the main gym at Morristown High School. Sponsored by Morristown Recreation and the Mayor’s Recreation Advisory Committee.
