St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown is offering a series of Monday Worship Services, led by the Boys and Girls Choirs.
These 6 pm services, which start on Feb. 23, 2015, are in the tradition known as Choral Evensong. This differs from Sunday morning services in that it both complements and contrasts Sunday morning services of Holy Communion.
Each week, the choristers will sing a different set of prayers, Psalms and an anthem appropriate to the day’s readings.
It is an opportunity to leave behind the business of the outside world and experience the beauty of spirituality. There will even be a mat in a dimly lit section of the church, where worshipers can lay down for a more meditative experience.
Following evensong, a light supper will be offered in the Parish Hall.
