We are happy to report that the  “Cones for Cancer”  fundraiser that we hosted at the South Street Creamery and Cafe in Morristown N.J. on Dec. 5th, 2014, to support the Metastatic Uveal Melanoma Program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, has raised approximately $21,000.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our families, friends, schools and businesses of the Morristown and neighboring communities for their amazing support and generous contributions towards this cause that is extremely close to our hearts.
Despite the cold, rainy weather there was an outpouring of support from the community that was heartwarming and beyond expectations.
The day was a huge success and we feel that with everyone’s help we have moved closer to finding a cure  for this devastating disease. Again, thank you to everyone.
With love and blessings,
Lori Ann and Jeff Giardina
Editor’s note: Lori Ann said that thanks to an anonymous donor’s match, Cones for Cancer actually raised $42,000 for research into the rare cancer that her husband is battling.  Donations here will continue to be matched, up to $200,000, through Dec. 31, 2014, Lori Ann said.
