Rogue, the pet that went missing after a Thanksgiving car crash in Morristown, was found on Tuesday morning by her owner behind the Regency apartments on Elm Street, said Joe Costa, the town code enforcement officer.

The 14-month-old dog had “scratches, but no major injuries,” he said, adding: “The owner is happy.”

Animal Control Officer Karen Negrin, a veterinarian, had spent days searching for Rogue, distributing flyers and posting updates on the  911 Dog and Cat Rescue Facebook page.

On Monday night Rogue once again gave her the slip, after a report that the dog was sniffing around a dumpster near the Regency.

“She really goes the extra mile,” Costa said of Negrin.

On Thanksgiving evening Rogue slipped away from the overturned car where she had been riding.

Another pet, a pitbull named Sasha, also survived the accident and was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters along with the driver, who reportedly sustained broken ribs and a broken leg.

The car appeared to be leaving southbound Route 287, at the Abbett / Ridgedale avenue exit, when it struck a parked vehicle and flipped over onto a Ridgedale Avenue property, according to the Morristown fire department.
