Want to help the hungry this holiday season?

The Morristown and Morris Township municipal buildings, the Mayo Performing Arts Center and Township fire stations are among places accepting holiday food donations.

Morristown town Attorney Vij Pawar is collecting food items for the Interfaith Food Pantry. You can drop off the donations at the second floor of town hall, 200 South St., or at his law office, 6 South St., Suite 201. Needed food items are listed here.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center hosts its annual yearly holiday food drive from Nov. 20-Dec. 24, 2014.

Donations will go to Morristown’s Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center.  Items can be brought to shows, or dropped off at the box office during regular business hours, Monday through Saturday.

Desired items include cans of soup/chili/stew, low-sugar cereal, individual packets of nuts or trail mix, canned chicken and tuna.

Also need are toiletries such as shampoo, razors, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, warm hats, gloves and scarves, thermal undergarments and white tube socks.

“MPAC is proud to work with Community Soup Kitchen to help provide necessary food and supplies to those individuals in need,” Allison Larena, theater president and CEO, said in a statement. “We encourage our patrons to help us in this effort to make the holiday season a joyous time for everyone.”

The Township fire department will accept food donations at all five of its fire stations, and in the lobby of the municipal building at 50 Woodland Ave., through Dec. 21, 2014, for the Interfaith Food Pantry.
