Is it really time for warming centers already?
Although it seems like the World Series was only yesterday, the weather gods are impatient for winter. And so Morristown is opening a warming center for the first time this season.
Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office said the Morristown Firehouse at 161 Speedwell Ave. will double as a public warming station from 6 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, through 8 am on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
The National Weather Service says overnight temperatures may plunge below 20 degrees, with winds exceeding 20 mph.
