The first Morristown Festival of Books is a celebration of words, and keynote speaker William Cohan did not mince any on Friday night.

The best-selling author of The Price of Silence, a 600-page examination of the 2006 Duke lacrosse scandal, ripped the “vociferous cabal” that he says has come out against the book–and against his right to explore the case.

Some 600 people attended the festival kickoff at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, according to festival Chairwoman Linda Hellstrom.

More than 20 authors are scheduled to give free talks today, Sept. 27, 2014, from 10 am to 4 pm  at four downtown venues.  Here is the roster.  Come back here for complete coverage.
