July 4 Historic Tours from The Presbyterian Church in Morristown

As part of Morristown’s Revolutionary Times Fourth of July celebrations, The Presbyterian Church in Morristown is offering tours of the historic church sanctuary and graveyard.

Learn about the place in Morristown’s history of this church and graveyard founded in 1733 — the symbolism of the architecture, artifacts and stained glass windows and Who’s Who in the graveyard, including veterans from the Revolutionary war. A guide will provide an overview and offer hand-outs for a self-guided tour inside and out. Stop by anytime from 1 pm to 3 p.m.

Morris Tourism and Morristown National Historical Park are hosting July Fourth activities on the Morristown Green from 11 to 2. Along with the PCM tours, festivities include, music, a Reading of the Declaration of Independence, the Tolling of the Bells, musket firing and cupcakes celebrating the 350th birthday of the state of New Jersey. Tours of the newly renovated Fort Nonsense will be offered after 2 p.m.
