MEDIA RELEASE

Convent Station Will Implement New Pay Parking Meters on May 7th

New Pay Parking System will improve parking service for commuters by providing receipts, accepting MasterCard/ Visa credit cards in addition to cash, and allowing payment of parking by cell phone.

The installation of the parking meters will begin May 1st. Effective the morning of May 7th, the new meters will be operational and Township staff will be on hand to assist commuters through the process of working with the new meter. Parking rates will remain the same. Smart Cards will no longer be accepted.

The Township will suspend parking enforcement May 1st through May 7th however, permit parking will still be enforced.

The new meters work in much the same way as the old meters, but deliver improved benefits, such as a range of new payment options and increased convenience when paying for parking.

Use mPay2Park to pay-by-phone. Register online or download the mPay2Park free Application. The initial registration takes only minutes, and once established a parking transaction takes even less time.

There will be a $0.30 convenience fee for each parking transaction.A day’s parking will cost $5.30 altogether when using the mPay2Park. When an account is created you initially have to deposit $25 dollars, each subsequent parking transaction will then deduct from that initial $25.
