Morristown High School basketball coach Billy Connolly called it as fine a high school game as you’ll ever see.

Based on these highlights from Jake Goldberg at Colonial Corner Sports, we would agree…except for the heartbreaking outcome!

The Colonials took a six-point lead into the intermission, but Mount Olive clawed back to win at the buzzer, 75-73, in the Morris County finals at the County College of Morris over the weekend.

Some Morristown heroics had tied the score in the waning seconds when senior Captain Sean Hoehn got the ball through traffic to Jack Mongey, who sank a three-pointer.

The Colonials face Irvington at home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 7 pm in the first round of the state tournament.
