Morristown will celebrate Black History Month and the legacy of Nelson Mandela in style this week, with a performance by the New York African Chorus Ensemble.

The chorus will sing on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Morristown High School, in a presentation of the Morristown Neighborhood House and its parent organization, Cornerstone Family Programs.

As a bonus, guests also will see The Kenjex and Bello Lamadieu.  Keith Bodden, chair of the Armed Forces/Veterans’ Affairs Committee of the New Jersey NAACP, will be honored, with Mike Bethune as master of ceremonies.

And a highlight, as always, will be foods unique to the African American culture.

The fun starts at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12 and senior citizens, in advance, or $23/ $12 at the door. For tickets or more information, contact the Nabe’sCommunity Development Director, Linda Murphy, at 973-538-1229, ext.14.
