Morristown police are investigating a shooting this evening, Jan. 31, 2014, in the vicinity of Lincoln and Garfield streets.
The shooting victim was in a motor vehicle. He was rushed to Morristown Medical Center, said Police Chief Pete Demnitz.
The victim’s condition was not immediately known, and there was not yet any information regarding a suspect, he said .
Neighbors said police rushed to the neighborhood around 5:30 pm.
A dark vehicle with front end damage was on the sidewalk in front of a home on Lincoln Street. An SUV was behind the car.
Portions of George Street and Lincoln Street were closed to traffic because of the investigation.
