Graduates of the two-year programs offered by the County College of Morris soon will be able to complete Rutgers University undergraduate degrees at CCM’s campuses in Morristown and Randolph.
The partnership, to be formalized next week, is scheduled to start in the 2014 fall semester, CCM announced on Wednesday.
Initially, Rutgers University-Newark will offer majors in psychology, journalism, criminal justice, graphic design and public and non-profit administration at CCM. More majors are anticipated in the future, according to CCM.
Participants will have access to programs at other Rutgers sites as well, and Rutgers academic advisers will be available at CCM campuses. Rutgers tuition rates will apply.
“The communities served by CCM are experiencing both population and workforce growth, creating new educational demands and needs,” said a statement from CCM.
“To respond to these changing needs, CCM wants to offer increased academic opportunities through its learning resources and facilities.”
Described as a “non-competitive, mutually supportive and complementary relationship,” the partnership is similar to Rutgers degree-completion arrangements with Atlantic Cape Community College, in the southern Jersey Shore region; Brookdale Community College, serving the northern Shore; and Mercer Community College and Raritan Valley Community College, serving central New Jersey.
CCM opened a Morristown campus at Headquarters Plaza in 1992, and moved to the Morris County Administration Annex Building at 30 Schuyler Place in 2012.
