Looks like the Rev. Cindy Alloway has one last piece of unfinished business before she leaves the Presbyterian Church in Morristown for northern California.
She’ll be moderating a workshop entitled Avoiding Elder Scams and Identity Theft, at the church on Nov. 9, 2013, from 2:30 pm to 4 p.m.
It’s sponsored by the Morris/Sussex Vicinage Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns of the Superior Court of New Jersey:
…Vicinage Ombudsman Janie Rodriguez will present information on typical scams that target seniors and on basic methods to avoid identity theft. She will also provide information on court programs and resources, including the services of the ombudsman office.
The workshop is free and open to anyone in Morris and Sussex counties. All ages are encouraged to attend, to learn how to recognize and avoid high- and low-tech scams that target seniors. No need to register. The workshop is at the Presbyterian Parish House at 65 South St.
