Time for Greater Morristown to vote! Who and Where

It’s Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013: Election Day!

Voters in Greater Morristown will notice at least one new wrinkle this time around:  The Morris District school board election has been rolled into the general one.

Polls are open from 6 am to 8 pm. At a glance, here’s what’s what in the local races:


MORRISTOWN

Mayor Tim Dougherty, a Democrat, faces challenges from Republican Rich Babcock and Independent Ed France.  Read about it and watch video here.

vote buttonDemocratic council members Michelle Dupree Harris (the council president), Toshiba Foster and Michael Elms are unopposed for four-year terms.

On the school board side, Board President Nancy Bangiola is running unopposed.

In the 25th legislative district, Sen. Anthony Bucco (R) is challenged by Independent Maureen Castriotta.

Assemblymen Michael Patrick Carroll of Morris Township and Anthony M. Bucco (both Republicans) are opposed by Independents Rebecca Feldman (a Morristown councilwoman) and Jack Curtis.  Read about it here.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP

Mayor Peter Mancuso, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Cathy Wilson, for a seat on the township committee.

For the district school board, Vice President Peter Gallerstein is opposed by Norman J. B. Blanchard.

In the 25th legislative district, Sen. Anthony Bucco (R) is challenged by Independent Maureen Castriotta.

Assemblymen Michael Patrick Carroll and Anthony M. Bucco (both Republicans) are opposed by Independents Rebecca Feldman and Jack Curtis.

MORRIS PLAINS

Republican Suzanne McCluskey and Democrat Jason Karr are unopposed for borough council.

Running for the borough board of education are incumbents Cynthia Fetherston (president), Maria Manley and Lee  A.L. Connor and newcomer Francis Foley.

In the 26th District legislative race, Republican State Sen. Joseph Pennacchio is challenged by Democrat Avery Ann Hart.

The 26th District Assembly race pits incumbent Republicans Jay Webber and BettyLou DeCroce against Democrats Elliot Isibor and Joseph Raich.

MORRIS COUNTY SEATS:

Freeholder Ann Grossi, a Republican, is running against Democrat Terry O’Connor Redwine for a five-year term as Morris County Clerk.

Sheriff Ed Rochford, a Republican, is opposed by Democrat Mark Dombrowski.

The freeholder race faces a familiar name from Morristown:

Former Mayor Donald Cresitello and fellow Democrats Roger Holman (a Morristown resident) and Thomas Moran face Republican incumbents Thomas Mastrangelo (director) and Douglas Cabana and newcomer Kathy DeFillippo.
