The Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown will be collecting donations this weekend to mark the first anniversary of Superstorm Sandy.

Local relief charities will receive money contributed at the Greg Allman concert on Oct. 25, 2013, and the Madeleine Peyroux show in Oct. 26, according to a Mayo spokesman.

“There are still many people and local organizations suffering from the after-effect of Hurricane Sandy,” said Allison Larena, MPAC president and CEO, in a statement. “The one-year anniversary of the storm is a reminder that recovery is far from over.”

The Mayo Center collected nearly $6,000 last year at four performances following Sandy.
