THURSDAY, OCT. 17, 2013:

Every week we look forward to Paul Laud’s brilliant cartoon satires here at MorristownGreen.com. His unique style marries original limericks with razor-sharp illustrations for a double whammy of humorous commentary…no scoundrel or scallywag can escape Paul’s laser focus! How does he do it?  Ask him yourself, over lunch at 12:45 pm in the Great Hall at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Buskin & Batteau know how to turn a phrase. From famous jingles (The Heartbeat of America) to sharp irony (Second Homeless) and unbridled goofiness (Jews Don’t Camp) to songs penned for Judy Collins, Tom Rush and Peter, Paul & Mary, this duo has produced some memorable material.  After touring in the ’90s, they went on their separate ways — but they’re together again and the proof will be at The Minstrel in Morris Township at 8 pm. Opening for them is pop singer-songwriter and pianist Avi Wisnia, who will bring Brazilian bossa nova- inspired folk to the stage. The Minstrel is at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship at 21 Normandy Heights Road. Admission is $8; free for kids 12 and under.

  1. Thanks for the reminder–if your Christmas gift looks familiar this year, it’s because we do quite a bit of our holiday shopping at the bazaar! You don’t need a toaster, by any chance?

  2. There’s also the Presbyterian Women’s Annual Bazaar on Saturday! It’s a giant yard sale and all proceeds go directly to service and mission work around the world. It’s at 65 South Street, on Saturday from 10-3.
