“Be well.”  You hear that closing salutation all the time.

But in Morristown, they really mean it.  Free yoga sessions will be available on the historic Morristown Green for four hours on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, starting at noon.

Be Well and Yoga Morristown are dubbing this the first annual Wellness: Mo-Town! event.

Activities include live music from 13hands, and a short class for kids at 12:10 pm.  Lots of health- and wellness businesses, health food vendors and nonprofits will have tables, said Marissa Sweeney, owner of Be Well.

Proceeds from vendor fees will benefit Sustainable Morristown and Yogis Heart, a volunteer group that gives yoga scholarships to young adults.

More than 35 eco-friendly organizations are expected to participate; you can learn about traditional medicine, nutrition, fitness, acupuncture, massage therapy, environmental and social wellness and chiropractic, according to Melissa Salny of the Smith Chiropractic & Wellness Center.

There will be free health screenings, spa and wellness treatments and fitness demos, she said. Bike and Walk Morristown will even offer “valet parking” for your bicycle.
