New Jersey Transit police have identified the victim of Friday’s train collision in Convent Station as Timothy Connors, 56, of Morristown.
The fatality occurred at approximately 11:45 am, when a Dover-bound Morris & Essex Line train struck the man, described as a trespasser on tracks near Kahn Road.
None of the 40 customers and crew members aboard the train was injured, but service was delayed in both directions in the aftermath of the incident.
The matter remains under investigation, said NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder.
