It’s time for Morristown cyclists to stand up and be counted…again!

The town has advanced to round two in an online contest to win a bike corral (a giant bike rack) for the parking lot at the Kings supermarket on South Street.  The new voting deadline is Friday, April 5, and you can vote here:

SARRIS BIKE CORRAL CONTEST

Morristown is competing against another Revolutionary War town, Concord, Mass., and the Colorado Plus Brew Pub in Wheat Ridge, Colo.

Bike and Walk Morristown describes the proposed Kings corral this way:

“Having a bike corral at Kings, on a large, wide sidewalk, right next to where they put out picnic tables in the summer, would really make this store a hub of community activity. During the hurricanes and blizzards, Kings has kept the community in mind and always stayed open, sometimes with dim lights, but always with a friendly atmosphere. Making this store the location for Morristown’s first impressive bike corral would say a lot about our community’s commitment to biking.”

The biking organization is on a roll; last week, the planning board approved a bicycle plan for the town.
