FROM THE MORRISTOWN POLICE:

Subject: Suspicious Activity

On February 22, 2013, two Morristown High School Students reported suspicious activity that occurred at approximately 7:30 P.M. on Early St. The students, both males 14 years and 16 years old, were walking back to a sporting event at the high school, when a male in a parked vehicle offered them a ride. The suspect also made a comment about the food that the youths were carrying. The male did not follow or do anything else to the students. The incident occurred near 14 Early St., where the vehicle was parked. The students ignored the male, returned to the school and reported the incident. Officer DeAnna Dietrich, the School Resource Officer was on duty and immediately took action. Officer Dietrich contacted additional patrols and a check of the area was performed. Upon checking the area, the vehicle was gone.

The students described the male as a middle aged man, with a long grey beard wearing a beige baseball cap. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a newer model pickup truck, white in color, and with orange lettering on the side somewhat resembling a landscaping vehicle. The description provided and circumstances do not appear to be similar to any previous suspicious activity reports.
