Bicycles are more than transportation to a lot of people.  They represent freedom and fun, sunny days and endless roads promising adventure and surprise around every bend.

What do bikes mean to you?  What memories do they evoke? Who have you met while on two wheels?

The annual Art of the Bicycle Show at Marty’s Reliable Cycle in Morristown will ask these questions on Dec. 6, 2012. The reception runs from 6 pm to 9 pm; the show will continue through Dec. 9 at Marty’s shop at 173 Speedwell Ave.

“It’s just people getting together, having fun, talking bikes, having a good time,” said Marty Epstein.

The show will feature bicycle-themed clothing, jewelry, knickknacks, confections from Enjou Chocolat, sculptures from Glassworks, and an appearance by Michael Gabriele, author of a book about the Nutley velodrome, Marty said.

Another interesting exhibitor will be Bandbox LLC, a New Jersey company that makes stylish bicycle helmets.

Do you have some art with bicycle- or nature motifs?  Let Marty know at his Morristown store, and perhaps you can be an exhibitor, too.

Admission is free; donations to Bike Walk Morristown will be accepted.
