The Morris School District finally reopened Wednesday after Hurricane Sandy, which can mean only one thing… another storm is coming!

Winter weather- and wind advisories have been issued for Greater Morristown and beyond by the National Weather Service, as a nor’easter heads our way.

Light rain and snow on Wednesday morning are expected to turn to snow by afternoon, and then maybe to rain or freezing rain overnight. Up to four inches of snow are possible by 6 am Thursday.

Expect 20- to 30 mph winds from the north, with gusts of 50 mph. The strongest winds are anticipated for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

More power outages are possible. Make sure your flashlight has fresh batteries. Secure anything that could blow around. And plan to stay indoors when the storm hits. More trees could topple.

Temperatures are predicted to be in the 30s overnight. If your house lacks heat, Morristown’s Office of Emergency Management (973-292-4884) can arrange to take you to the Red Cross shelter at Mennen Arena in Morris Township.  The warming station in the seniors center at town hall also remains open, 24-7.

Maybe that’s where the town council should hold its meeting Wednesday evening?
