Just when you think you are out of the woods… the woods come crashing down around you.
Or in this case, utility poles.
As we reported Tuesday, a garbage truck hit some utility poles at the intersection of Washington and Mills streets. Morristown police are advising that some residents could experience power outages on Wednesday, as work crews repair the damage.
As of Wednesday, Nov. 7, just under 1,000 Morristown customers–10 percent of the total–remain without power after Hurricane Sandy, which struck on Oct. 29.
About 2,600 customers in Morris Township–30 percent–are in the same boat. In Morris Plains, 101 customers, or 4 percent of the borough, await restoration of power. These figures are from Jersey Central Power & Light.
