The church had light. The church had heat. The church had The Thirteen.
So it was a no-brainer on Saturday.
After a long week with Hurricane Sandy, we were grateful to kick back and let the beautiful sounds of this professional choir wash over us.
With gas shortages and the like, the turnout was light for the concert, entitled Music for Coronation. For everyone who could not get out, here is a video excerpt. Here’s hoping you have the electricity to view it!
On the plus side, you have three more chances to catch The Thirteen at the Presbyterian Church in Morristown. They return with a Christmas concert on Dec. 15, followed by Bach’s St. John’s Passion on March 16, and Music of the Fantastical on May 11.
The Thirteen, a professional choir from south Jersey, gave hurricane-weary Morristown residents a lovely respite with ‘Music for Coronation,’ a concert at the Presbyterian Church on the Green. The choir is conducted by Matthew Robertson. Video by Kevin Coughlin for MorristownGreen.com, Nov. 3, 2012
