Just a reminder: A public hearing about the community garden proposed for Martin Luther King Avenue is set for tonight, Monday, Sept. 10, at Morristown Town Hall.
It’s in the seniors center at 7 pm.
Grow It Green Morristown has grant money to create what would be the third community garden in town. Although members of the predominantly African-American Second Ward neighborhood would get first crack at plots in the garden, some residents told the town council that they were not consulted about the project and expressed reservations.
So the council scheduled tonight’s meeting.
Note: Tuesday’s regular council meeting, and Thursday’s council redevelopment meeting, have been postponed for a week out of respect for Councilman Anthony Cattano Jr., who died last week. The Sept. 25 council meeting also has been canceled.
