Bio

Matt joined the staff of The Presbyterian Church in Morristownin July of 2012 as Director of Music, where he serves as Church Organist and directs the adult choirs and Ringers-on-the-Green. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and philosophy from Wake Forest University, NC, and a Master of Music degree from the Universityof North Carolina, Greensboro, where he will complete the Doctor
of Musical Arts degree in December of 2012.

From an early age, Matt was involved in the music ministry of his church, serving as an accompanist and choral director. He has served Presbyterian, Episcopal, and United Methodist congregations, where he built choral and instrumental programs for children, youth and adults. As an educator, Matt previously taught atElonUniversity, UNC Greensboro, theUNCSchoolof the Arts, and theCanterburySchool.

Professionally, Matt has worked extensively as a collaborative pianist and choral conductor and is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association, the American Guild of Organists, and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. Matt lives inUnion Citywith his two dogs, Lola and Lucy.
