Jamie Bell, a star on the Morristown High School 1993 championship football team, plays for a different team now: Uncle Sam.

Jamie just returned from Afghanistan, where he flew an Apache attack chopper for the U.S. Army. Over the weekend, friends and relatives welcomed Jamie and his family to the Marion Sally Residence Center in Manahan Village.

In the video clip above, Jamie talks about how football helped prepare him for the military. He also describes prospects for peace in Afghanistan and Iraq, where he served two tours on the ground as a Marine, and comments about the fallout from a March massacre of Afghan civilians, allegedly by a U.S. soldier.

Jamie also offers words of encouragement for kids in Manahan Village. To read the full story, including an extended interview with Jamie and his wife Lidia, click here.
