Memorial service set for June 16 for John T. Cunningham, chronicler of Morristown and New Jersey; wake on June 11

John T. Cunningham, who wrote more than 50 books about Morristown and New Jersey, will be memorialized on Saturday, June 16, in an 11 a.m. service at the Morristown United Methodist Church.

There also will be a wake, on Monday, June 11, at the Dangler Funeral Home at 106 Main St., Madison. Hours are 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.

The Morristown High School graduate (Class of ’32) passed away last week, just three weeks short of his 97th birthday.

“John was a fascinating rascal, a bright mind and a great storyteller.  He was fun till the end and will be missed,” said Pastor Neill Tolboom of the Morristown United Methodist Church, where John was a member.
