The festive and inspiring event, filled with music, food, laughter and fun was a wonderful example of the spirit of the studio. Owners Janice Molinari and Marguerite Smith, along with instructors and staff, were on hand to warmly welcome visitors. Free morning classes brought a flood of energetic yogis through the door.

Ananda Yoga moved from its previous location in Mendham, NJ into the Morristown community and opened its doors with a full schedule of classes and events on April 1.

The beautifully appointed studio hosts a vibrant retail section and a large and welcoming yoga studio. Programs and classes are designed to help students of all levels deepen their practice of yoga both on the mat and in their everyday lives.

Ananda Yoga was opened “as a labor of love.”

“Engaging in both the physical and philosophical practices of yoga has really enhanced our quality of life and improved our health, so we are excited for the opportunity to offer something so beneficial to our local community,” says Janice Molinari, who touts the healing properties of yoga after it helped heal her chronic back pain and lift her from 10 years of painful daily living.

“The right alignment is key. Pain is just your body’s way of alerting you to a misalignment. Yoga helps you tune into your body and work in harmony with it. By listening to the signals your body sends, it can help guide you into proper alignment and out of chronic pain. It also builds strength and endurance and enhances flexibility.”

A variety of styles and levels are offered so students have an opportunity to find what is right for them.

“We are fortunate to have a roster of experienced, caring teachers,” Molinari says. Indeed, the calm and inviting atmosphere of the yoga studio is different than most gyms and workout arenas. “When you come to class here, you are welcomed as part of the family. Yoga is meant to be practiced in community and we are pleased when we see each of our friends walk through the door, bringing their own unique energy and personality into the class.”

Ananda Yoga is also offering a variety of workshops geared toward engaging more deeply with life on every level. From a house concert slated for May 11th to a journaling series, planned for July, to workshops on nutrition and meditation, yoga for athletes to improve performance, and relaxing, restorative yoga for caretakers, Ananda Yoga off to a fantastic start on their quest to become Morristown’s most recognizable center for health and wellness.
