In celebration of 25 years of service to the Morristown community, you are cordially invited to the Morristown Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Silver Anniversary Gala, celebrating Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.
The dinner is scheduled for April 27 at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany.
Founded January 13, 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is a private, non-profit organization, dedicated to the service of mankind. Its primary purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.
With more than 200,000 members in 900 chapters located on three continents, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. has made and continues to make a difference in the lives of people in developing nations and industrialized countries alike.
Chartered on March 27, 1987, the Morristown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. has served the community by supporting programs at: Homeless Solutions, the Eric Johnson House, Jersey Battered Women’s Service, Habitat for Humanity, Senior Services of the Housing Authority of Morristown and the Morristown Community Health Fair, to name a few.
Our service also includes the presentation of many cultural and artistic events as well as donations to the children’s wing of Morristown Medical Center and to Morristown High School.
The chapter provides strong support for education from preschool to high school and beyond, through various programs designed to stress the importance of lifelong learning. The chapter presents annual scholarships and honoraria to Morris County students pursuing a post-secondary education to recognize them for their achievements.
The women of Morristown Alumnae Chapter are committed to service. Throughout its 25 years, the organization has become a staple of the Morris County community, providing much needed leadership, scholarships and service whenever need.
