Dan Fenelon, whose art work is heavily influenced by tribal and street art, and by his earlier travels into the world of cartooning, is the featured artist here, on the third floor of the North Tower at Headquarters Plaza.

When he is not painting and sculpting, Fenelon and artist Susan Faiola-Noonan mentor art students at Morristown High School.

Fenelon’s current piece (pictured with the artist) will be exhibited later this year at the MLB Fan Cave in New York.

“I like to try new styles that incorporate all the elements of my creativity. This particular painting is a favorite of mine,” he said.

Santiago Hernandez, a native of Havana, Cuba, is now an established abstract artist living in Boston.

A reception for the artist is scheduled for March 23, from 6 pm to 8 pm, at the gallery on 48 Bank St. The public is invited.

Atrium Gallery

Emerging artists from Morris County high schools exhibited in the 24th annual High School Student Art Show sponsored by Blackwell Street Center for the Arts, a nonprofit organization in Denville. Selections from this juried show are on display at the Atrium Gallery on 10 Court St.

“Typically, there are 600-800 submissions,” said Lynn Siebert of the Arts Council of the Morris Area. “It is a wonderful opportunity for students to get professional feedback.”

Blackwell Street is hosting an artists’ awards presentation on March 30 from  6 pm to 9 pm. The public is invited.

Hyatt Morristown

Nicole Schmolzer‘s painting Imbuing Senses 2012 is described by the website Antonio’s Pics as “contemplative, balanced and soothing. Using oils and ink on linen, she creates soft textures and nuanced fields of gray that are delicately imbued with dashes of yellow.”

Lovers of contemporary art definitely should view her work in person to appreciate the subtle colors and unique designs.

You can see her exhibit at the Hyatt Morristown until June 30.

Remembrance of Things Past,  a juried exhibit, marks the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

“Work by the 50 artists present very distinctive and unique visions which range from the personal to the cosmic, from the sense of loss and tragedy to the humorous and touching,” says the website for the Arts Council of the Morris Area.

All of the exhibiting artists live or work in New Jersey. The show has been extended to March 28.

Citibank

Robert Atwell  has shown his works previously at the Simon Gallery.  He is a contemporary artist whose inspiration came from a job working for a sign company between college and grad school. Enamel-on-aluminum panels were a medium of the sign industry that lent themselves to bold colors and 3D shapes.

Citibank is at 30 W. Park Place.
