The Minstrel in Morris Township caters to a … mature audience.  So it was a fun change of pace to hear a pair of 15-year-olds open the Folk Project show on Oct. 21.

Liv & Jordy-– a.k.a. Olivia Platt and Jordan Black–actually have been singing together for years. They played the Heartlands Hayride radio show back in 2008 and entertained at nursing homes and on Christmas train rides before taking the stage at Morristown’s Got Talent!  They also sang at MorristownGreen.com’s parking deck concert in 2009, and at Festival Earth last year as part of a band called The Members.

Jordy is a sophomore at Morristown High and Olivia is a sophomore at Parsippany Hills. In this clip they perform Running and Hiding, a song written for them by their music mentor, jazz guitarist Grover Kemble of Za Zu Zaz fame.

Grover has been a busy guy. A week earlier, he backed 86-year-old singer Naomi Sunshine at The Minstrel.  In May, he reunited with Za Zu Zaz on the same stage. And he headlined at the first Morristown Jazz Festival in August.
