Bring your pet to our tent in front of the Church on the Green at 57 Park Place during this year’s Festival on the Green, held on Sunday October 2, 2011 from 1-3 pm. Pastor Cindy Alloway will give a personal blessing to each animal. We are partnering with Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association (www.noahsarknj.org) and MARDOG (www.mardog.org) for this event. Water and treats will be provided for the animals.
Pets of all types, shapes and sizes are invited for an individual blessing. We will also remember pets who died in the past year and animals who suffer from sickness, hunger, pain and abuse. Each year, the “Blessing of the Animals” is held the afternoon of a weekend in early October, the time of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, a beloved Christian saint who went about blessing God’s creatures for their beauty and contributions to our lives.
