Morris Township will be closing Lake Valley Road between Mill and Lake roads for three weeks to repair embankment erosion from Tropical Storm Irene, township Administrator Tim Quinn said on Tuesday. The repairs begin on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Here are more details:

Lake Valley Road will be closed effective immediately between Mill Road and Lake Road. There will be local access for residents living on Lake Valley Road, Deerchase neighborhood and Tracy Court.
Embankment erosion along Watnong Brook from Hurricane Irene has begun to undermine the stability of the Lake Valley Road just south of Mill Road.
Temporary repairs will begin September 7th and are expected to take at least one week up to three weeks to complete. A detour has been put into place utilizing Mill Road, Burnham Road and Lake Road.
