One year ago, six moms from Morristown were stunned by a spate of suicides and attempted suicides by area teenagers.
They knew something had to be done to show kids another way to escape despair.
“Our Youth Their Future” was born.
The nonprofit group will celebrate its second annual Youth Rally on July 30 from noon to 6 pm at Morristown’s Cauldwell Playground.
There will be music, food, prizes and a basketball game, plus inspirational speakers and singers who will warn about the dangers of drugs and extoll the power if faith.
Several social service agencies will be on hand to showcase their resources. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office also will offer its support to steer teens on the right path.
