There’s a Nature Discovery Hike this morning from 10 – 11:15 am at Jockey Hollow.  Join a Park Ranger and discover some of the natural wonders of Jockey Hollow on this 2 mile round-trip hike.  Call 973-542-4030 for further information.  Meet for the hike at 10:00am at the Trail Center Parking Lot.

It’s Friday Fun for Ages 1-4 today from 10:15 – 11:15 am at the Community Children’s Museum, 77 East Blackwell Street, Dover.  Story time and sign language with BeeBo; the story incorporates sign language for each topic and children will make a picture to take home.  It’s an “ocean” theme today.  Cost is $10 per child plus museum admission; adults are free.  Call 973-366-9060 for more information, or see the Morris Museum website.

Take part in a Military Timeline Living History from 7 – 9 pm at Cooper Gristmill, 66 Old State Route 24, County Route 513, Chester.   Relive history through various timelines of camp life during the French and Indian War and Civil War periods.  See demonstrations of drills, campfires, gear, utilities, artifacts, and more.  The event continues throughout the weekend; Saturday hours are 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm.   Suggested donation is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors (65+), and $1 for children ages 4 – 16. Tonight is Open Stage at The Minstrel from  8 – 11 pm.  Acoustic musicians can play a 15-minute set on our stage; audiences hear a wide variety of musicians, some as previews to future bookings. Morristown in Three Centuries happens every Saturday from 10 – 11:30 am.   Morris Tourism offers this great series of tours around town with historical commentary; Morristown history from its earliest beginnings at the Presbyterian Church  through the Industrial Revolution and to the flamboyant Gilded Age.  The tour starts at 6 Court Street, Morristown.  The cost is $10, group size is limited to 25, and reservations are required.  Call 973-631-5151 to reserve a spot.

Jockey Hollow reprises Alien Invaders today starting at 11 am and again at 1 pm at the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center.  A discussion of invasive species in our area, this discussion is led by a Park Ranger and is free.

Samuel Hernández appears tonight starting at 8 pm at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts.   A Christian singer and Puerto Rican native, Samuel Hernández comes to Morristown to perform some of his hits, including Por Si No Hay Manaña, which have earned him nominations for a Latin Grammy and a Latin Billboard, both for “Best Christian Album.”

Jon Zlock returns to Hennessey’s Washington Bar in Morristown tonight, for “over-21 acoustical musical goodness” from 9 pm on.

The Morristown Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 8:30 am to 2 pm in Public Parking Lot#10 on the corner of Morris Ave. and Spring Street adjacent to Dumont Place.  In its 21st season, the market operates every Sunday until November 20;  NJ farms and specialty vendors will offer fresh fruits & vegetables (including organic), herbs, flowers, eggs, baked goods, honey, pickled products, fish, poultry, pork, and grass-fed beef.  Contact Phone 973-455-1133.

It’s Hub Hollow Bluegrass, Rock & Old Time Music at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum today from 4 – 5:30 pm.   Enjoy Hub Hollow’s “new kind of old time music,” as they perform in the colorful gardens at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum.  Relax on the lawn during the program; bring blankets or chairs, and picnic supplies,  and settle back for a late afternoon of music in a beautiful setting.   Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?   The museum will be open for tours and exhibits from 1 pm until 4 pm; the  last tour leaves at 3 pm.  45 Macculloch Avenue, Morristown.  Admission (includes music and museum both): Adults $6; Seniors & Students $5; Members and children under 12 are free.  Contact Phone 973-538-2404, ext 15.

Princeton Garden Tours, Prospect Garden, and Morven Museum and Garden.  Drive yourself to tour three private home gardens, Princeton University’s Prospect Garden, and Morven Museum and Garden all in one day!  The private home gardens and Prospect Garden are self-guided. Enjoy a Photo Scavenger Hunt today at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum.  July is Youth Photographer Month at the Arboretum, and today from 1 – 3 pm you can attend the F-Stop Photography Exhibition opening reception and meet the young photographers as they speak about their work. Then, head out on a photo scavenger hunt in the gardens. The Frelinghuysen Arboretum offers Garden Sprouts on Mondays at 10 am this summer.   Bring your favorite preschooler to the arboretum for this series of programs designed for the budding nature explorer. Each week young people along with a favorite grownup will explore different gardens around Arboretum and learn just how important plants are and how they do what they do.
