The Morristown Farmers Market kicks off its 21st season on June 19, and it’s serving a fresh new feature every fourth week: “Art Scene Sundays.”

Morristown businesses with an artistic bent–from galleries to arts and crafts stores to camera and frame shops–will be invited to sell their creations.

This is in addition to live music that will welcome shoppers on every second Sunday through Nov. 20.

France Delle Donne of the Morristown Partnership, which oversees the Farmers Market, said at least 18 downtown businesses have some sort of tie to the art world.

“It has to be a commercial business in town” to exhibit, she said. The fee is $50.

This season also will mark the second year that the Farmers Market will extend into November.  That’s three weeks longer than in earlier years.

Five vendors at the market–ER & Son Organic Farm, Grossman Farm, Michisk Farm, Pittstown Fruit Farm, Union Hill Farm and Bakers Bounty–have agreed to donate surplus foods to the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center’s Healthy Choice program. Another regular at the market, Alstede Farms, already contributes to the soup kitchen.

The Farmers Market will be in its familiar home, the municipal parking lot behind the post office, between Morris Street and Dumont Place.
