You don’t need a Hollywood budget to make cutting-edge movies. Join us on April 25 at the Morristown EcoCenter and learn basics of shooting, sound and software, so you can win Best Picture at this summer’s Fourth Annual MorristownGreen.com Film Festival!

MG is proud to present two experts who can show you how to get great video from your point-and-shoot:

  • Michael Butler, Television/Radio teacher at Morristown High School and former senior director of Court TV/TruTV.
  • Eric Ruhalter, Senior Writer/Producer, AMC Television, winner 2010 MorristownGreen.com Film Festival.

A WORD ABOUT THIS SUMMER’S FILM FEST…

Now’s the time to get cracking on your video for the Film Fest!  More details are coming, but here are the basics:

LENGTH: Five minutes or less.

CARDINAL RULE: Must be suitable for family audience.

DEADLINE: July 1

THEME: “SUSTAINABILITY.”  Here is a broad definition of what that means:

“Sustainability is meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

Think Green. Think fairness. Think justice. Think economics. Think bikes. Comedies, dramas, documentaries, music videos, animations, slide shows–if you can shoot it, you can enter it.

May 3: MG SONGWRITERS NIGHT: THE MAGIC BEHIND THE MUSIC: Where do great songs come from? Gifted songwriters share their secrets.

May 13: MG CARTOONISTS NIGHT: DOODLING WITH A MESSAGE: Want to start a comic strip? Three entertaining MG cartoonists sketch it out for you. Part of an Art Showcase featuring New Yorker illustrations and more.

May 17: MG FUN WITH WORDS: Poetry, improv, beat boxing, hip hop–string ‘em together and what have you got? Fast-paced fun!

May 25: MG KIDS ART SHOW: Student masterpieces on display, a live art project, plus tips on green cooking for kids. To showcase art from your school, drop us a line at
