The Twin Oaks Tennis and Fitness Club in Morris Township has been sold to the Center Court Athletic Club of Chatham, according to Center Court’s website:

The CAC Tennis Academy is now expanding its horizons by adding two more clubs, Twin Oaks Tennis Club in Morristown NJ and Copper Springs Beach Tennis Club in Gillette NJ. Both clubs were purchased in the spring of 2010 by the same ownership team. Clay and his coaching staff will bring the same standards that have propelled Centercourt to earn the honor of being designated as a USTA Regional Training Center, only one of 19 such facilities in the country.

The change of ownership, which occurred on March 21, will not affect operations at the adjacent Twin Oaks Ice Rink, according to Bruce Driver, a former New Jersey Devils defenseman who coaches the Morristown-Beard girls hockey team at Twin Oaks.

“It’s business as usual,” Bruce said.

The rink is run by Twin Oaks Ice Rink LLC, which is in the 11th year of a 50-year lease. That lease is transferable to the new owner, Bruce said. There is an option for another 40 years when the lease expires, he said. The rink opened in November 2000, according to its website. The initial investor group comprised parents of players at the Morristown-Beard School, Bruce said.

Principals of Center Court and the Twin Oaks Tennis and Fitness Club did not return calls seeking comment on Monday.
