Abendmusik – Brett Grigsby, Classical Guitar concert Sunday, 3/27 at 3:00 pm

Abendmusik, the concert series sponsored by Music At Morristown United Methodist Church, will continue its 2010-2011th season with a concert on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 3:00 pm.  The concert will feature Brett Grigsby, Classical Guitar.   There is a suggested donation of $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for senior citizens and students.  Advance tickets are available ($12 adults/$10 seniors & students) by telephoning the church office 973-538-2132.  Student groups with teachers are admitted free.  The concert will be presented at Morristown United Methodist Church, 50 Park Place (on the Green), Morristown, NJ.  Our facilities are handicapped accessible.  There will be desserts available at the beginning of the event.  Please visit our website for more information: www.morristownumc.com.

            Brett Grigsby will be playing compositions by Brouwer, Bach, Roux, and Joplin, and arrangements of tango music and French Songs by Dyens. 

Classical Guitarist Brett Grigsby received his Master’s in Guitar Performance from the Mannes College of Music in New York City.  During that period he studied and performed in masterclasses for some of the world’s leading guitar figures.  Roberto Aussel, Hubert Kappel, Bruce Holzman, Andrew York, and The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet have all coached Brett in Masterclass settings.  During that time period Brett studied privately with Ben Verdery, Michael Newman, and Patrick Roux.  Since, Brett’s concert schedule has included solo concerts at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the 92nd St Y, an all-Bach program at Steinway Hall, and the esteemed concert series at St. Paul’s Chapel in New York City.  Brett is a dedicated instructor having held faculty positions at Lehigh University and Kean University.  Brett is currently on the faculty at Skidmore College.
